Abstract

OKHUYSEN CASAL, Magdalena. El poder de las imágenes y los riesgos de la imaginación: La imagen y el estereotipo en el primer episodio de Medea. Acta poét [online]. 2008, vol.29, n.1, pp.95-119. ISSN 2448-735X.

During the first scene of Euripides tragedy, Medea and Creonte face each other. The encounter of these two characters indicates the opposition of two universes, which, as the tragedy develops, and after its dramatic purposes, evolves around the contrasts image / stereotype, and crátos / acráteia. This article is looking for the understanding of the remarkable significance of the barbarian character of the protagonist, in relation to the other characters, antagonists by nature, all of them Greek.

Keywords : tragedia; Eurípides; Medea; imagen; estereotipo; bárbaro.
