Abstract

GARCIA PEREZ, David. Allusions to Greek Myths in Prometeo by Ramón Pérez de Ayala: the Crisis of Humanism and Progress. Nova tellus [online]. 2014, vol.32, n.1, pp.137-152. ISSN 0185-3058.

This paper proposes a comparative reading of Prometheus, a novel by Ramón Pérez de Ayala, a Spanish writer, taking Greek mythology as a reference, specifically the heroic figures of Odysseus and Prometheus. This will be done in order to assess the analyses, both critical and literary, of the ideas related to humanism and progress.

Keywords : Humanism; mythology; Odysseus; Pérez de Ayala; progress; Prometheus.
