Abstract

GARCIA PEREZ, David. La angustia del ser y del deber en la tragedia griega. Nova tellus [online]. 2008, vol.26, n.2, pp.103-120. ISSN 0185-3058.

In this article the definition of tragic is explored starting from an understanding of anguish in some Greek tragedies. The feeling of anguish arises when the character is forced to define his/her own being, which is mostly opposed to his/her duty. It is from the clash between actual being and "should-be" that tragic tension arises, as this is revealed, among other means, through the mask and the metamorphosis.

Keywords : angustia; deber; máscara; metamorfosis; ser; tragedia griega.
