The aim of the article was to analyze the perceptions of researchers of work precariousness conditions in a Mexican public university. The methodology used in the study was qualitative, using the biographical method through life stories, we conducted twelve semi-structured interviews to members of the National System of Researchers. As a result, the researchers experienced crisis in their professional identity, which they managed through activating two resilient capacities: resistance to destruction and the capacity to build.
