The following article aims at establishing if Human Development is promoted in the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. Using the ideal list of capacities for Higher Education proposed by Melanie Walker, the document analyzes the competences stated in 53 study plans, which correspond to the implementation of the Curriculum Innovation Model of the UAEMéx. The results obtained from the review allow to identify the capabilities that are promoted through the professional competences, and they also allow to foresee those that have to be fostered if the university wants to contribute to human development.
