Abstract

GARCIA GALVAN, Rodolfo  and  LINDQUIST SANCHEZ, Ricardo. Towards a social agenda of Latin American universities of the 21st century: a theoretical-epistemic and political perspective. Rev. educ. sup [online]. 2020, vol.49, n.194, pp.89-113.  Epub Nov 27, 2020. ISSN 0185-2760.  https://doi.org/10.36857/resu.2020.194.1126.

This paper seeks to identify the most salient features of the discussion on the interaction of higher education institutions with their social surroundings, as well as the social needs and problems that demand greater training and techno-scientific research efforts in Latin America. It is based on the premise that there is an economic, social and political context that demands a greater presence of universities in the attention of social problems; and that for this it is necessary to delimit both the conceptual and operative notion of the social actors and the major problems to which they must aim, in which progress is made in this work.

Keywords : Third sector; University-third sector collaboration; Social problems.
