Abstract

WALKER, Verónica Soledad. Trends in higher education and their impact on university teaching work. Rev. educ. sup [online]. 2020, vol.49, n.193, pp.107-127.  Epub Aug 21, 2020. ISSN 0185-2760.  https://doi.org/10.36857/resu.2020.193.1028.

Since the last decades, higher education systems worldwide have been witnessing the hegemony of new forms of labor contracting, policies for the quality evaluation and internationalization, virtualization and expansion of postgraduate programs. In this article we analyze the incidence of these trends in university teaching work. An analysis, based on results of empirical research and literature contributions allow us to identify an individualizing effect that deepens the differentiation, stratification, and disengagement of the teacher collective work.

Keywords : Higher Education; university teaching work; working conditions; work organization; work evaluation.
