Abstract

TORREBLANCA NAVARRO, Omar  and  ROJAS-DRUMMOND, Sylvia. Technologic mediation to develop the observation skills in Psychology students: A socio-constructivist approach. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2010, vol.32, n.127, pp.58-84. ISSN 0185-2698.

This study analyzes the learning strategies displayed by Psychology students when participating in a workshop to develop their observation skills through the use of educational software in a technologic and multimedia context. The strategies were studied from a socio-constructivist approach. It was found that the proposed technological environment favored those students that assumed a very active role in the teaching-learning process. In the field of language, the students were involved in acquiring the technical terminology appropriate to do systematic observations in Psychology. In the final analysis, when the students were asked to participate in activities with greater conceptual and procedural requirements, it was found that a higher level of interaction was required to use the multimedia software.
