This article studies the main events in the Second American Congress of Lima (1864-1865). It seeks to clarify two interrelated aspects of the history of Latin American integration. The specific expressions of the influx of the Panamanian Congress and the continuity of the Latin American unionist movement throughout the first half century of Independence.
