Abstract

RABOTNIKOF, Nora. Commentary on María Pía Lara’s Beyond the Public Sphere. Film and the Feminist Imaginary. Diánoia [online]. 2022, vol.67, n.88, pp.95-104.  Epub Nov 21, 2022. ISSN 0185-2450.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iifs.18704913e.2022.88.1937.

Beyond the Public Sphere deals with the main role of films in the making of the social imaginary. In my paper, I reflect on the conceptual construction of the term ‘social imaginary’. Then, I wonder how far does the ‘Beyond’ in the tittle go -does it mean a change, a structural transformation or the disappearance of the public sphere?

Keywords : social imaginary; feminist theory; political feminism; academic feminism; film.
