Abstract

LASCURAIN, María Cecilia. On Subnational Governmental Elites. Peronist Governors and Deputy Governors of Santa Fe, Argentina (1983-2007). Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2018, vol.63, n.233, pp.307-331. ISSN 0185-1918.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.2448492xe.2018.233.57827.

The article explores how Peronist governors and vice-governors of the province of Santa Fe (Argentina) were recruited during the 1983-2007 period. Through the prosopographic method the biographies of the actors are reconstructed based on various variables and their trajectories are followed. The analysis reveals two forms of admission to the Executive Power: the union bridge (1983-1991) and the trust of the leader, to which he accompanied the carrying of technical credentials (1991-2007). The findings show that Santa Fe’s Peronism underwent a late process of party de-unionization and a crisis of representation in the early 1990s. Since then, the leadership of Carlos Reutemann will emerge as the new recruiting leader.
