Abstract

CROVI DRUETTA, Delia  and  LOPEZ GONZALEZ, Rocío. Weaving Voices: Young University Students Give their Opinion on the Adaptation of Internet into the Academic Life. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2011, vol.56, n.212, pp.69-80. ISSN 0185-1918.

In this article, the authors report some of the results of a wider investigation titled "Technologies of Information in the Academic Community of UNAM: access, use and adaptation". The object of this was to realize a diagnosis on the daily practices of the academic community in UNAM on access, use and adaptation of the information and communication technologies, TIC, in education material. The results indicate that there are differences in areas as well as in the semester that the student courses, since while for the students of biological areas and health and physics-mathematics and engineering, the TIC are fundamental resources the academic activities and life in general, for the students of Social Sciences these are instruments of socialization. Humanities and Arts, on the other hand, consider them as secondary tools in the academic sphere and of socialization. The knowledge on the resources offered by the UNAM increases to the degree in which the students take more advanced semesters not only thru a natural information, product of their daily university coexistence, but also for the need to realize their thesis for their degree.
