Abstract

In this article, a statistical analysis is made of incorporated data on the influence of some social groups in the votes for the major presidential candidates in 2006. His essay uses a data base built by the author that includes 107 variables and 2,435 cases, as well as demographic, economic and cultural indicators taken from the municipal data base of the Instituto Nacional de Geografía y Estadística e Informática (inegi) and of the results of the presidential election of 2006, themselves emanated from a data base published on the Internet by the Instituto Federal Electoral (ife) per municipality.
