Abstract

SALGADO ANDRADE, Eva. La prensa escrita en México frente al cambio de régimen. Rev. mex. cienc. polít. soc [online]. 2007, vol.49, n.199, pp.35-62. ISSN 0185-1918.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.2448492xe.2007.199.42549.

This paper tries to find evidences of lin-guistic and semiotic elements of written press discourse and the way it recreates reality, acts as intermediary between social actors or turns itself into a political actor. The analysis covers all the materials published from July 3 to 7, 2000, in ten national newspapers, deal-ing with the results of the elections: 838 news, editorials, articles, interviews and reports. The selection is due to the fact that as a result of July 2000 elections, public opinion assigned great interest to this fact, mainly because it was thought that alternancy in the presidency was to be-come a reality in Mexico, thus ending 70 years of hegemonical power of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI). Using an original methodology applied to the analysis of an exhaustive corpus, this work shows the usefulness of interdisciplinary researches on social sciences.

Keywords : prensa en México; elec-ciones; discurso periodístico; géneros periodísticos; análisis de discurso.
