Abstract

The article present the obtained quantitative and qualitative results of an investigation, in that the contents were analyzed which eleven Mexican newspapers published with relationship to the addictions of the Mexican women, during the years 1997, 1998 and 1999. The analysis present the magnitude the news were approached it has more than enough addictions and to the originators that were pronounced in this respect. The investigation used as source to the Bulletin of Journalistic Information in Health, published by the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Xochimilco. The discoveries indicate that the press published scarce information on this problem; the information took charge of diffusing more data on the number of addicts, deaths and damages than they are generated in the fetus, during the pregnancy, omitting the explanations on the causes of the addiction and how to prevent it.
