Abstract

This research tries to explain the so called body's oppression, to which the women are submitted in the patriarchal system throughout their adolescence, specifically in the visual characterization of a fat girl on the teen Mexican soap operas. The huge ratings presented by soap operas in our country, creates the commitment for the gender studies, since communication, to analyze the women's role on this characters. This analysis pretends to prove the triple margination that obese teenager girls are submitted on the teen Mexican soap operas: because they are women, young and fat.
