Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show the main actions that formed what we call the first steps of institutionalization on child care in the early twentieth century in Mexico. It focuses on various institutions, usually government, which administered various public and private facilities where he attended mothers and children, establishments that laid the foundation and set the course on the mechanisms to assist children in their first years of life and thus contributed to reducing maternal and infant mortality were.
