This paper proposes an analysis, from an anthropological and youth studies perspective, on a particular way of being young through maintaining an ethnic sense in a contemporary metropolis of northeastern Mexico. The objective of this analysis is to show the main elements that make up the equation of youth in a Mixtec community located in the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon., using the voices, experiences and meanings of the different social actors, but mainly from the young people themselves, which are articulated in the said youthful configuration.
