Based on the established guidelines for applying facial reconstruction in forensics, it is essential to have access to the parameters related to the thickness of facial soft tissue of the population group of the individual in question. [Wilkinson, 2004; Taylor, 2001; Lebedinskaya et al., 1993; Valencia, 2007]. Therefore, it was decided to analyze a sample of 33 cadavers and 100 living subjects of both sexes, of different ages and types of physique, to establish these parameters for the Spanish population in the regions of Granada and Castilla La Mancha, Spain. This investigation was carried out to increase the knowledge of one of the minimum requirements needed when applying facial reconstruction techniques to the process of human identification. Two techniques were used to analyze the facial soft tissue: puncture and computerized axial tomography.
