Abstract
ANGULO MENASSE, Andrea; GRANADOS COSME, José Arturo and GONZALEZ RODRIGUEZ, M-Mar. Experiencias de familias homoparentales con profesionales de la psicología en México, Distrito Federal: Una aproximación cualitativa. Cuicuilco [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.59, pp.211-236. ISSN 0185-1659.
This article analyzes eight same sex parent families interviewed in Mexico in the year 2012. Each family stated its experiences with the psychology professionals who cared for them on an individual, couple or family basis, in response to the question asked by this research project, which is related to the way the psychologists act, when these families have had contact with them in schools, adoption institutions and doctors' offices. The objective was to learn, based on the experience of the families studied, the type of psychological practice the professionals implemented in their work spaces. The way hetero-normative prejudices are repeated in psychological practice is discussed, when the families experience them as negative because the psychologists tend to rectify the families' "mistakes." The type of relationships with some professionals, which were considered therapeutic, are also examined.
