MOCTEZUMA YANO, Patricia. Ser alfarero en Amozoc, Puebla: La construcción de una identidad laboral artesanal. Cuicuilco [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.58, pp.109-138. ISSN 0185-1659.
The value assigned to producing pottery as an occupational choice is one that changes over the course of a person's life and the family's life cycle. Moreover, the innovations in production and techniques have generated various consequences, including different ways of entering the labor force, which have led to a plurality of ways of building an occupational identity among the people who produce this earthenware. The objective of this analysis is to become aware of the above by demonstrating specific cases, which show, in addition to the economic and technical aspects, that those of a cultural nature, such as gender and kinship, influence in the subjects' self-perception and hetero-perception, which have repercussions on the artisans' personal development.
Keywords : work culture; work identity; gender and kinship.
