Abstract

Cultural heritage constitutes a set of cultural expressions, artistic, scientific, technological, and other, developed historically and contemporaneously to contribute to the development of societies. As part of the cultural heritage include manifestations printed and documentaries, which are testament to the thought of societies, in their capacity as relevant media to transmit knowledge and to have valuable particularities. The aim of this paper is to review, analyze and compare concepts, legislations and treatment of cultural heritage worldwide both as bibliographic and documentary heritage for those mainstream approaches to substantiate reason for information and social perspectives on education bibliographic and documentary heritage. This document is divided into two main sections: first, cultural concepts, institutional protection of cultural heritage and cultural heritage legislations, and second, concepts of bibliographic and documentary heritage, world documentary heritage protection, legal aspects of documentary heritage, and documentary heritage education. Finally, concluding remarks are noted.
