Abstract
PEREZ RUIZ, Maya Lorena. Guillermo Bonfil Batalla: Aportaciones al pensamiento social contemporáneo. Cuicuilco [online]. 2013, vol.20, n.57, pp.115-136. ISSN 0185-1659.
The currency of the thought of Guillermo Bonfil Batalla (1935-1991) is shown by the intensity with which his concepts are circulating in Latin America today. Reexamining his contributions, 20 years after his death, means rethinking the debates about building the Mexican national state, the specificity of colonial subordination and how to focus the demands for recognizing cultural plurality and diversity. These problems have already been widely under discussion in Latin America, since the second half of the 20th century, as a result of the influence of the decolonialization and national liberation movements, and in the light of the demands of the indigenous movement in the Americas and not, as many assume, due to the influence of Anglo-Saxon multi-culturalism, European inter-culturality and post-modern and post-colonial debates, which come to us as new contributions.
Keywords : Guillermo Bonfil; subordinate classes; colonized people and colonial subordination.
