Abstract

This case study investigates the legislative rotation of the state of Durango representatives in the Union Congress over the past fifteen years. Its purpose is to show the importance gender for access of women and men into political representation space. By a sex treatment of the legislative information system registers, this paper identifies the number of women and men representatives, the paths routes they follow and the number of times they have held a position of representation. The study shows the disadvantage women of the state of Durango have in making a political and parliamentary career. It is contextualized in the current debate on Political Reform in which legislative reelection is one of its main points.
