The Gender and Identities studies have developed many advances in the understanding of contemporary society, however little progress was made in the knowledge and understanding of these topics in societies of the past and from History, as the people who lived in the Mission of the Californias in the late eighteenth century, especially the Indian population. With this essay to explore possible ways of approaching the Missionary testimonies, already known, of this broad region, as well as understanding the documents as sources of imagery of the missionaries, as well as Indigenous groups and their cultural practices, from the perspective of the interpretation of the interpretation.
