Abstract

The article analyze the context, processes, rules and results of the Superior Audit of the Federation in Mexico to carry out the control, legality and evidence of federal resources that are applied in federal entity Quintana Roo. Highlighting the limits of its action, especially when that federative entity has had deviations of resources, corruption practices and patrimonial loss of government with damage to society, the market economy and public finances. Although Mexico has institutionalized horizontal accountability at both the federal and state levels, there are cases of political corruption that discredit and deteriorates democracy and credibility in the system of institutions that sustain the tasks of government and local administration.
