Abstract

This paper identifies the different degrees of legislative institutionalization and transparency in local congresses in Mexico, from a comparative perspective. The general objective is to contribute to the state of knowledge of political science on the institutional performance of subnational legislatures and to explain how the process of democratization affects performance in terms of institutionalization and transparency at that level.
