Abstract

FLORES BARBA, María Laura. The Artificer of the Cuentas Family in Guadalajara. An. Inst. Investig. Estét [online]. 2009, vol.31, n.95, pp.69-84. ISSN 0185-1276.

Diego de Cuentas is one of the best known painters of eighteenth-century Guadalajara. This article provides data about the artist and his family derived from a document found in the Archives of the Real Audiencia de Guadalajara. Information contained in litigation by the painter's grandson against his uncle over the sale of a house sheds light on the dynamics of the work of colonial painters in general and of this family in particular.
