Abstract

KRINSKY, Carol H.. State of the Field: Studies of ldentity in Modern Architecture. An. Inst. Investig. Estét [online]. 2004, vol.26, n.85, pp.31-47. ISSN 0185-1276.

In the last generation, North American architectural history has come to include studies of the architecture of indigenous and minority groups. This article explains the background for this phenomenon, and cites references to architecture by and for Jews, African-Americans, and Native Americans. The article raises questions about how identity is defined, especially for people of mixed heritage.
