Abstract

CABRERA, Nicolás  and  ASSUSA, Gonzalo. Bar Codes: Hierarchies, Legitimacy and International Disputes in a Soccer Fan Base in Argentina. Nueva antropol [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.87, pp.29-46. ISSN 0185-0636.

The present article deals with the inter-generational point of view as the key to understanding the history of the bar of Los Piratas and as a way of building symbolic boundaries between groups and factions of soccer fans. Based on ethnographic methodology, this paper rebuilds pathways and stories of characters from three different generations of the bar, the meanings based on sociability, violence as a resource, organizational logic and patterns for legitimizing clubs of soccer fans. We understand that the inter-generational point of view is manifested as a methodological key to the moral universe of these groups, and, therefore, to the symbolic processes on which these build, legitimize and question the strength of this space.

Keywords : inter-generational relations; soccer fan clubs; violence; moral boundaries.
