A description of theoretical-methodological strategies which have been used to carry out the ethnographic study of electoral processes as expressions of political-territorial dynamics expressed in Mexico City is presented. The article examines how clientelistic networks have been organized and their relation to the representatives of party factions, especially of the PRD. It shows how the results of elections can be explained, especially in areas of the greatest poverty, based on negotiations entered into by the leaders of urban organizations with intermediaries associated with the predominant political party (PRD) up to the year 2015 in the capital of the country.
