Abstract

SANTOS, María Josefa. Cayendo en las redes: relaciones simbióticas entre instituciones y agro-negocios. Nueva antropol [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.77, pp.79-107. ISSN 0185-0636.

The paper shows how small and sometimes recent entrepreneurs depend on their capacity to be integrated into new market niches, to get credit, better suppliers and new technical knowledge to grow. The article examines the case of blueberry growers in southwestern Michigan and small food enterprises in Mexico. The work documents some of the institutional programs and tasks that constitute the supply of knowledge and financing for small businesses related to rural production. It also discusses how these entrepreneurs begin to cluster into producer associations under different titles such as; farmers' societies (in Mexico), and associations or cooperatives in Michigan. Finally, we describe how new references generated by interinstitutional relations firms promote agreement among businesses, institutions of higher learning, hie and government agencies on actions to achieve specific and concrete results.

Keywords : small business; frameworks; collaborative networks; support programs.
