Abstract

GARCIA-GRAJALES, Jesús  and  BUENROSTRO-SILVA, Alejandra. Photographic record of Thraupis episcopus (blue gray tanager) in an urban environment on the central coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. Acta Zool. Mex [online]. 2019, vol.35, e3502076.  Epub Dec 30, 2019. ISSN 2448-8445.  https://doi.org/10.21829/azm.2019.3502076.

We present a photographic record of the Blue-gray Tanager (Thraupis episcopus) in an urban environment on the central coast of Oaxaca, Mexico. The nearest geographically known records are from the southeastern coastal plain of Guerrero, northeastern Mexico and the Yucatan Peninsula. In Oaxaca, the unpublished visual records are from the coastal plain of this state and can be seen on digital platforms; however, it is necessary to publish records in order to facilitate the analysis of passive dispersion of neotropical birds and document its possible causes.

Keywords : distribution range; neotropical bird; photographic record; urban environment; Oaxaca.
