Abstract

This work provides a detailed list of the specimens of the genus Sceloporus deposited in the herpetological collection of CII-DIR-IPN-DGO. Twenty four species from the states of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Jalisco, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz and Zacatecas, were determined, of which S. albiventris, S. clarkii clarkii, S. heterolepis, S. lemosespinali, S. melanorhinus and S. nelsoni barrancarum represent new state records for Durango, and S. heterolepis a state record for Zacatecas. Additionally, known range and altitudinal records are extended for some species, pointing out variations concerning the typical patterns of scales and color found in specimens of some species, and where appropriate new municipal records are also stated.
