Abstract

ROCHA PINO, Manuel de Jesús. The Strategic Partnership concept in the Bilateral Relation European union-people's Republic of China: A Soft Law Case into the European Communitarian Law. Bol. Mex. Der. Comp. [online]. 2010, vol.43, n.127, pp.229-270. ISSN 2448-4873.

The strategic partnership concept has fulfilled an empirically verifiable function as an organizational mean used in the relations that the European Union (EU) has established with other regional groups as well as with some National States. Nevertheless the European institutional system has not given a concrete definition to this mechanism. In this research it is cons ide red that to get an approxi -mated definition of the strategic partnership concept must be realised a description of the historical trajectory that has followed this concept in the in terna tional system. As a case study the research describes the trajectory of the strategic partnership established between the EU and China and its particularities as a soft law mechanism in the bilateral relation.

Keywords : strategic partnership; Third Countries; normative power; European Commission; soft law.
