Abstract

CABRAL-ROSETTI, Luis G.. Introducción al modelo estándar en el background field method electrodebil. Rev. mex. fis. [online]. 2002, vol.48, n.2, pp.155-181. ISSN 0035-001X.

In this educational work, we review the formulation of the Standard Model (SM) SU(2)LU (1)Y in the context of electroweak Background Field Method (BFM). Firstly, we analyze the different parts of the Lagrangian of the SM with certain detail. Secondly, we make the canonical quantization of SM, via path integral. In the same way, we quantize the SM in the BFM framework and we analyze its advantages. We list some Ward identities from electroweak BFM. For example, we calculate the electric charge and the magnetic moment of the neutrino and we show the transversality of the self-energy γB-ZB at one-loop by direct calculation. Finally, we list the Feynman rules of the electroweak BFM in the't Hooft-Feynman gauge (ξQ = 1).

Keywords : Standar model; background field method; electroweak background field method; electroweak interactions.
