Abstract

SANCHEZ-HOLGUIN, Mariana; SCHALCH-PONCE DE LEON, Jorge Martín  and  VALENCIA-VAZQUEZ, Jorge L. Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis, use of bone scintigraphy in the diagnostic evaluation. Report of 5 cases. Neumol. cir. torax [online]. 2018, vol.77, n.1, pp.28-33. ISSN 0028-3746.

Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis is an uncommon clinical entity, there has only been 11 case reports in Mexico until 2011. This disease is characterized by alveolar occupation with a calcic component. Bone scintigraphy uses a radiopharmaceutical that fixates to calcium hidroxiapatite, reason why it is useful to detect the calcium component in the pulmonary lesions.

Keywords : Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis; pulmonary microcalcinosis; bone scintigraphy.
