Abstract

CACELIN GARZA, José Ramón et al. SARS-CoV-2-Induced Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia: Case Report. Rev. Fac. Med. (Méx.) [online]. 2022, vol.65, n.1, pp.26-36.  Epub Mar 30, 2022. ISSN 2448-4865.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fm.24484865e.2022.65.1.04.

Infection by SARS-CoV-2 virus is not solely limited to the common clinical presentation of acute respiratory distress syndrome, mainly because a wide spectrum of clinical manifestation has been observed. These presentations include, but are not limited to, neurological, cardiovascular, throm- boembolic, hematologic, and autoimmune presentations. Within this wide spectrum, cases of autoimmune hemolytic anemia due to SARS-CoV-2 infection are rising. This is why primary care physicians should be ready to identify this clinical entity appropriately.

Keywords : Hemolytic anemia; SARS-CoV-2; COVID-19; warm antibodies; cold agglutinins.
