Abstract

JIMENEZ MOYO, Cuauhtémoc  and  AVILA PARDO, Adriana Aurora. Linked Research and the Purposes of Intercultural Higher Education. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2024, vol.54, n.1, pp.139-163.  Epub Mar 11, 2024. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2024.54.1.611.

This article reflects on the reason for education today, from the field of intercultural higher education in Mexico. For this, we analyze the Linked Research (IV) of the Intercultural Veracruzana University (UVI). This pedagogical strategy has allowed the UVI community to achieve the objective of forming professional profiles that respond to the political and pedagogical ideal of achieving more just and equitable societies. The analysis presented takes up the results of two ethnographic investigations (one on the founding stage of the UVI in 2004 and another on the training trajectories of students and graduates, concluded in 2023), which allows us to reflect on the complexity of the educational phenomenon as it is a product of an articulated diachronic and synchronic analysis. The main conclusion points to thinking that the reason why one is educated at the UVI is to participate in the dispute for the hegemony of other ways of being in the contemporary world.
