Abstract

BAHENA NAVA, Oscar; LUGO VILLASENOR, Elisa  and  SAENGER PEDRERO, Cony-Brunhilde. Training for Social Commitment as a Vital and Liberating Trajectory. Configuration and Scope of the Educational Model of a Mexican Jesuit University. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2022, vol.52, n.3, pp.133-161.  Epub Sep 05, 2022. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2022.52.3.524.

The purpose of this document is to present some results and findings that are part of a larger study. The objective of the research was to know the approach, characteristics, and processes inherent to a university model focused on social commitment. This analysis used the dialectical hermeneutic method to address the problematic framework from a systemic and complex perspective of reality. It used interviews to collect the data and different techniques for their treatment. As a result, a set of five Dimensions allowed the elaboration of an analytical tool that favored the qualitative assessment of the Educational Model under study as well as the understanding of some characteristic features and its approach. The conclusion is that the proposal contained in the training project is based on the development of life trajectories focused on training and social action, forming people of excellence and oriented towards the construction of a more humane, fairer, supportive, inclusive, and peaceful society; this allows us to assert that these trajectories can also be called liberating.

Keywords : university social commitment; university social responsibility; training; life project; liberating life trajectory.
