Abstract

FRANCO TRUJILLO, Erik Daniel. Morphological and Semantic Analysis of the Derivational Suffixes -Ari- and -Ario in Mexican Spanish. Anu. let. lingüíst. filol. [online]. 2017, vol.5, n.2, pp.113-148.  Epub Jan 24, 2022. ISSN 2448-8224.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.adel.5.2.2017.1455.

This paper presents a descriptive approach to the main morphological and semantic properties of the derivational suffixes -ari- and -ario in Mexican Spanish. After putting forward the existence of a suffix -ari- and -ario which coexist in the Spanish language, I offer an exhaustive description of the main morphological and semantic features of these morphemes. In this way, I consider the importance of focusing and thoroughly studying the different morphological suffixes of the Spanish language.

Keywords : lexical morphology; morphological derivation; suffixation; semantic analysis; Mexican Spanish.
