Abstract

MEJIA CORDOVA, Guillermo. Relationships among financial stress and employee well-being of Petroleos Mexicanos in the southeast of Mexico. Investig. adm. [online]. 2017, vol.46, n.119. ISSN 2448-7678.

This research uses a structural equation model with the objective to relate the employee well-being level with financial stress caused by financial problems in a sample of 183 employees of Petroleos Mexicanos in the southeast of Mexico. The methodology used was quantitative, non-experimental and cross-sectional. The results report that financial well-being has a significant negative relation of 60% on financial stress, which means that lower financial well-being will increase the financial stress of the employee. This research takes relevance since the oil industry takes an important role in the public finances of Mexico. The study weaknesses is that may not be representative of the financial reality of employees, so it would be important to take a representative sample of the total number of workers.
