Abstract

LARA ANGELINO, Claudio Rene. The universal peace as a mechanism of domination in the international system. Inter disciplina [online]. 2018, vol.6, n.15, pp.41-59.  Epub Feb 19, 2021. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2018.15.63840.

This article seeks to reflect on the dominant paradigm of peace in the international system. From the historical analysis that demonstrates the evolution of the concept of peace, it is intended to understand the current formation of a paradigm of universal peace based culturally, politically, economically and socially by particular interests. A paradigm that represents an essential part of the power structure among the States, although it is not written in any international legal instrument. Critically, and based on two African experiences, it is proposed to leave behind the idea of a universal peace to consider a concept of heterogeneous peace that allows us to understand that peace is as diverse as the cultures that make up our world.

Keywords : peace; domination; security; violence; heterogeneous peace.
