Introduction:
The location of melanoma in the gastrointestinal tract is rare.
Objective:
To present a case of melanoma located in the colon.
Case report:
Patient with right visual field loss. The tomographic study presented a non-homogeneous right parieto-occipital lesion and metastatic nodular images in both lung fields. Colonoscopy revealed a blackish polypoid lesion in the sigmoid. The pathology study confirmed the diagnosis of melanoma. Palliative treatment was established.
Conclusions:
Colonic location of melanoma is rare. Treatment depends on the presence or absence of metastatic disease at the time of diagnosis.
