Abstract

In this paper we showed an analysis whose objective is to identify the characteristics of the learning environment from the perception of young high school students from the needs that guarantee the academic performance and the development of competences, considering as main attributes: Social interaction, normativity, resources and teaching practice.

The learning environment understood in its complexity, adding all the components that integrate it, from teacher and student like a main actors and the activities that develop in a interaction, the strategies and resources that are used to involve the context starting from the previous knowledge, the construction and sharing of objective methods and plans, all with the intention of generating new knowledge, requires a vision that transcends the aulic space, refers to the world of the interaction of the subject learning with its social context and with its own ability to understand the world.

An explanatory descriptive study was carried out with a quantitative and qualitative approach considering a representative sample of 267 youngsters from university baccalaureate, taking as main attributes derived from the unit of analysis, social interaction, normativity, resources and teaching practice. It was found that the social ability among peers is one of the most important characteristics for the generation of learning environments, which has not been considered by the figures representing institutional educational authorities, with respect to normativity was observed in the results that is Understood as a control mechanism without a corresponding follow-up, a teaching practice whose strategies are unrelated to the daily context in which it can frame useful and meaningful learning. Finally, the results of this study can serve as a reference for educational authorities to consider the potential that represents the aspect of the socialization of young people in the different dimensions that make up the conditions to create learning environments that are relevant and relevant to student demands.
