Fluxus, a contemporary work of art by the British artist Melanie Smith, belongs to the permanent collection of the MUAC-UNAM, was intervened in August 2012 by the Seminar-Workshop for Restoration of Modern and Contemporary Art at Escuela Nacional de Conservación, Restauración y Museografía (National School of Conservation, Restoration and Museography, ENCRyM) del Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH, National Institute for Anthropology and History, Mexico). This paper focuses on the considerations at stake during the decision-making process regarding the conservation-restoration of Fluxus.
