Abstract
CRUZ MENDOZA, Javier et al. Ecological evaluation of three agroecosystems of sheep production in Central Valleys of Oaxaca. Rev. Mex. Cienc. Agríc [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.spe6, pp.1251-1261. ISSN 2007-0934.
To assess the ecological dimension that three agroecosystems of sheep production have (extensive, semi-intensive and intensive) in the central valleys of Oaxaca, was used part of the Assessment Framework Methodology Management Systems Incorporating Sustainability Indicators (MESMIS) by measuring indicators that allow assessing the ecological dimension, which showed that intensive sheep agro ecosystem, has higher productivity of forage; in soil resources the extensive sheep agro ecosystem shows the best results for indicators; quality of water is used for irrigation in extensive agro ecosystem which presents problems due to high concentration of salts. Due to high anthropogenic pressure and population growth in the three agroecosystems was observed vegetation loss.
Keywords : indicators of quality; productivity; anthropogenic pressure.
