We report two bird species not previously recorded in the Estado de México. A female of the Prothonotary Warbler (Protonotaria citrea) was collected in the botanical garden of the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Iztacala, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (FESI-UNAM), in the north of the Valley of Mexico, and one specimen (undetermined sex) of the Fan-tailed Warbler (Euthlypis lachrymosa) was collected in the Balsas river basin, southern Estado de México. Both of them were deposited in the Bird Collection of the Museo de Zoología "Alfonso L. Herrera" Facultad de Ciencias, UNAM.

Keywords : Prothonotary Warbler; Fan-tailed Warbler; new records.
