ALVAREZ RIVERO, Valeria; CERVANTES ZORRILLA, Ricardo; CARDENAS-HERNANDEZ, Miren Lorea  and  GONZALEZ-CHAVEZ, Mario Andrés. Scombroidosis. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.1, pp.63-65. ISSN 1870-7203.

Histamine intoxication or scombroid poisoning is an alergy-like intoxication caused by deep-water fish of the Scombridae family (tuna, mackerel, bonito, etc.) in poor preservation conditions. Worldwide it is the most common cause of fish poisoning since this species is consumed in large quantities all over the world. We report two cases where both intoxications were due to eating sealed tuna.

Keywords : Scombroidosis; tuna food poisoning; histamine; poisoning; fish.
