Abstract
JIMENEZ MARCE, ROGELIO. THE WRITING AS A SPACE OF POLITICAL DISCUSSION. THE ACTION OF JESUS GONZALEZ ORTEGA IN THE PUEBLA SITE OF 1863, ACCORDING TO THE PRESS AND NOVELS THE SUN OF MAY AND MEXICAN NATIONAL EPISODES. Tzintzun. Rev. estud. históricos [online]. 2020, n.71, pp.31-65. Epub July 30, 2020. ISSN 2007-963X.
Through the study of the narrative on the siege of Puebla in 1863 in the novels El Sol de Mayo and Episodios Nacionales Mexicanos, the article intends to show the reasons why a negative vision of General Jesus Gonzalez Ortega was constructed in these novels. Character to whom the press of the time praised for having been a participant in one of the “most glorious pages of history”. This negative view was the product of the political discredit attributed to the general, since he was not forgiven for seeking to succeed Benito Juarez at the presidency.
